Frequently asked questions
Both coaching and counselling (as well as other therapies) are grounded in psychology.
While the goal of both is to create positive change for the client, coaching is a more action-oriented process that focuses on creating tangible changes and achieving specific goals.
Coaching is not aimed at treating mental health issues; however, coaching can help guide you in developing better habits to care for your mental health. Somatic work can also be very helpful for those struggling with emotional regulation, or trauma responses like chronic stress, hypervigilance, or people pleasing.
Coaching is a good choice for those who find themselves wanting to create more tangible changes in their journey.
A discovery call is where we get to meet each other and decide if we're a good match.
At the start, I might ask you what made you reach out, what you're currently struggling with and what you'd like to change. This is a chance for you to share your challenges and hopes for what this work can bring you.
I will then explain how I work, the methods I use and how these could potentially help you with your challenges. I will also answer any questions you might have about anything, whether it be my way of working, payment options, pricing or anything else.
Please note, if I believe what you'd like help with is outside of my scope of practice, I will let you know and suggest alternative help which might be more suitable.
At the end, I will tell you how you can move forward if you'd like to work with me. Some people might've decided in the call that they'd like to work together, some might need some more time. I won't ask you to give me an answer straight away, and the call will end with no obligations.
After the call, I will send you a follow-up email which will contain a booking link. If you decide you'd like to work together, you can book a session through the link and let me know.
The coaching sessions may vary broadly depending on your needs. The first session is usually focused on getting really clear on the changes you'd like to create and why. This might involve me asking many reflective questions. We might also reflect on the blocks to your goals.
The following sessions might involve:
Building motivation to change and planning actions to change.
Identifying your current challenges & exploring how to shift them
Psycho-education (e.g. on nervous system regulation, psychological theories)
Somatic exercises to help you process emotions
Trauma-informed work to help you shift unhelpful habits or responses
Mindset or belief work (e.g. belief challenging, identifying your strengths)
Root Cause Therapy session (this is a method combining somatic work and hypnotherapy to help clients shift long-lasting limiting beliefs & trauma responses at their root).
Reflective or sharing sessions (e.g. a session where you lead and get things off your chest, or we reflect on what's working/not working for you).
In the sessions, I might ask you reflective questions, offer suggestions if you're open to them, or help you narrow down your focus.
After the session, you will get an email from me outlining any agreed-upon actions as well as any resources mentioned.
The last session is usually a reflective one. We discuss the progress you've made, what worked well for you and how you can continue to succeed going forward.
The first step to us working together is a free discovery call. This is important as it firstly allows me to ensure the challenges you're presenting with are suitable for the work I do, and secondly allows you to decide whether I could be a good match for you.
After the discovery call, I will send you an email with a summary of anything mentioned, pricing options, and a booking link.
I ask that you confirm whether you're interested in continuing, and if you are, I will send you a coaching agreement which outlines the kind of work we will do as well as policies such as cancellations or confidentiality.
An invoice will be sent to you, which is payable before the first session.
Yes, you can book a single session for £75.
This is the same process as with the programme, where you'd book a free discovery call first.
It’s natural to feel apprehensive about change, especially since our minds often resist change as a way of keeping us safe. That's why this programme is designed to address these "protection" mechanisms, which may have previously hindered your progress and made you lose confidence in your ability to change.
And remember, you won't be doing this alone. The coaching programme is designed to provide a supportive environment tailored to your needs and challenges. We start with small, manageable steps to ensure you’re not overwhelmed. As you experience each success, no matter how small, your confidence and self-belief will grow.
Most people report feeling better with each session; however, this journey looks different for everyone, so I cannot say what it will be like for you.
This programme is designed to be gentle yet impactful. We achieve this by meeting you where you're at, rather than pushing you to change or achieve more.
I will be there to provide you with emotional support as well as lots of tools to ensure you feel safe and comfortable, even outside of sessions.
We’ll work closely to embrace and navigate the ups and downs, ensuring that you continue moving forward and achieving meaningful shifts.
It's completely normal to feel sceptical, especially if past experiences have left you disappointed. After negative experiences, many of us are left feeling "unfixable" and lose self-confidence in our ability to change.
What allows us to create lasting change in this programme is tackling your challenges at their root. We do this through a trauma-focused approach that works with your body to process past hurts, which have left you stuck and unhappy. We also work on teaching you to regulate yourself so that when difficult situations arise, you don't become as triggered or reactive.
However, it’s important to remember that transformation is a journey, not a quick fix. I’m here to support you through the ups and downs. Together, we’ll work at a pace that feels right for you, guiding you toward real, lasting change.
It can be difficult to conceptualise how intangible outcomes such as increased joy, connection and happiness can be measured or tracked.
In the programme, we translate these into tangible changes, such as being able to enjoy family time without feeling stressed or signing up for a new course as a first step towards a new career.
We continually check in on your progress and monitor changes that happen. We will also adjust as needed if you are struggling to see progress.
For many, the thought of having to commit to something may seem overwhelming, or they might not believe in their ability to stick to it.
While there's no promise on how quickly you will achieve your desired outcome, there is also no “fast track” to create lasting change. This programme is not designed to offer quick fixes, but rather sustainable, long-lasting change.
A big benefit of having a coach is having accountability, which helps you stay committed. Many clients also find that once they start seeing initial improvements, their motivation and commitment grow.
Although coaching differs from therapy, they both use psychology to create change in people's lives and deal with a variety of complex issues.
Coaching is not intended to treat mental health conditions such as PTSD. For issues such as PTSD or acute trauma (such as a single traumatic event), specialised therapies like EMDR are more appropriate.
Trauma-informed coaching and somatic work are aimed at supporting post-traumatic growth and shifting learnt responses which developed as a result of trauma. For example, people pleasing, trouble regulating emotions or self-sabotage. These might have developed as protective mechanisms at some point, but currently, they act as obstacles to creating sustainable, positive change in your life.
Trauma-informed coaching views these behaviours not only as mindset blocks, but as learnt survival responses. This means we don't rely on mindset work alone in hopes of creating permanent change. We avoid "forcing" change or anything that might make you feel overwhelmed, unsafe or incapable. Instead, we focus on creating safety and building nervous system capacity to help you overcome these responses, making change feel more natural.
My approach also combines evidence-based practices like mindfulness or behaviour change models, and draws from therapeutic theories such as psychodynamic theory, CBT, and Gestalt principles within a coaching framework.
My qualifications include a BSc Hons in Psychology, along with certifications in Coaching, Trauma-Informed Coaching, Counselling and other methods. You can see all my qualifications on my About me page.
The 3-month Vibrant Life Coaching Programme is priced at £1,000, which includes weekly coaching sessions. Alternatively, you can extend it into 6 months with bi-weekly sessions.
Both options include 15 coaching sessions and access to personalised materials, such as meditations and educational resources.
You can pay £1,000 up front or three payments of £335 over 3 months (this applies to both the 3 and 6 months programmes).
A single session is priced at £75.
I understand that the cost may be a significant investment for many. To accommodate this, I offer payment plans, allowing you to spread the cost over 3 months.
I also offer individual sessions at £75 if you'd like to try it out before committing.
I also believe wellbeing support should be as accessible as possible. Unfortunately, those who need it the most are often in a position where they struggle to afford it. I gladly provide flexible discounts for individuals on low income or students. This means we match the cost to your needs, you can pay anything from £25-£65 per single session. Please get in touch for more information.
To ensure the investment is right for you, I only take payments after an initial consultation.
